TRINA scientist delivers webinar to more than 50 faculty members from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).

India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) is the Indian equivalent of the USA CHIPS Act. The Government of India (GoI) has announced an investment of approximately 10 billion dollars towards the promotion of R&D plus the design and manufacturing of semiconductor devices and systems in India. The effort has been further classified into 12 broad Strategic Research Areas (SRAs), one of which relates to Thermal Technologies and Design of power electronics. Professor Anandaroop Bhattacharya (IIT Kharagpur) and Prof. Sameer Khandekar (IIT Kanpur) are leading the thermal management pillar. Through ERD’s Director, IIT invited TRINA to mentor faculty in setting up their research direction. In August of 2023, TRINA’s Electronics Research Department Senior Principal Scientist, Dr. Shailesh Joshi, delivered an online seminar to more than 50 faculty members from IIT on challenges associated with thermal management and packaging of power semiconductor devices. The talk was well received by the audience, and Dr. Joshi will continue to a serve as an industry advisor on thermal challenges in power electronics.
