Toyota’s Collaborative Safety Research Center (CSRC) demonstrated its leadership in promoting a future safe mobility society at the 2024 Annual Scientific Conference of the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM). Held in Seoul, Korea, in conjunction with the Korean Auto-Vehicle Safety Association (KASA) and the Korean Society of Traumatology (KST), the event welcomed approximately 575 delegates from 14 countries, including leading researchers, engineers, and policymakers.

CSRC played a prominent role as an event sponsor, with representatives delivering three of its five featured presentations. These covered cutting-edge research on topics such as virtual safety testing, predictors of speeding behavior, and equity in ankle injury prediction. Additionally, CSRC’s Rini Sherony was honored with the prestigious 2024 AAAM Award of Merit, recognizing her exceptional contributions to traffic safety.

Conference themes closely aligned with CSRC’s ongoing research, including teen driving safety, virtual passive safety testing, and vulnerable road user protection. Insights shared by leading global safety researchers and organizations reinforced the significance of evidence-based assessments in driving safety improvements.

Looking ahead, CSRC plans to take back key learnings into its collaborations with global researchers to enhance current projects and explore new opportunities, maintaining its commitment to advancing safe mobility for all.
