Toyota Research Institute of North America (TRINA) in conjunction with Toyota IP Solutions, launched last August after debuting at CES in 2020, and has developed a technology called electroactive artificial muscles — that can be licensed for applications as simple as a cell phone holder or as involved as a seat massage function.
