ANN ARBOR, Mich. Toyota CSRC providing expertise to panel discussions on safe traffic systems

Members from Toyota’s Collaborative Safety Research Center (CSRC) were participated as invited panelists at the 2022 Lifesavers National Conference on Highway Safety Priorities.  This Lifesavers Conference, held March 13-15, 2022, featured multiple sessions on the Safe System Approach for reducing traffic injuries and fatalities, Vehicle Technology, Pedestrian/Bicyclist Safety, and others.

Rini Sherony, CSRC Senior Principal Engineer, addressed “Does That Vehicle See Me? Pedestrians & Vulnerable Road Users.”  She shared the stage with experts from the Insurance Institute for Highways Safety (IIHS) and Intel/Mobileye.

Jason Hallman, PhD, CSRC Senior Manager, addressed “Vehicle Safety: A Critical Component of a Safe System Approach.”  He shared the stage with experts from Advocates for Highway & Auto Safety, the Insurance Institute for Highways Safety (IIHS), the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), and HAAS Alert.
